November 12th, 2009 6-9PM Opening Reception for 13 Months.  A survey of new and recent work by artists that exhibited in the first year at AREA 919. TODT, John Rosser, Amie Potsic, Abby Schmidt, Luis Montoya, Anthony Angelicola, and Mark Khaisman return to AREA 919 with work in various mediums that will interact with the space and the creative forces that have inhabited it.

October 8th, 2009 Artists on Artists: A member of TODT will speak on Mark Khaisman's work followed by Q and A with Khaisman. Reception 6PM. Talks start at 7PM.

October 3 and 4th, 2009 POST Weekend 12-6PM. Anthony Angelicola, Amie Potsic and Abby Schmidt exhibit work along side Mark Khaisman: INTRAspective. POST AFTER PARTY Saturday night October 3rd, 6-10PM

September 10th, 2009 6-9PM Opening Reception for Mark Khaisman: INTRAspective. A survey of new and selected recent works with video and installation components. INTRAspective will include nine Tapeworks light boxes and four Patternworks digital prints on canvas displayed throughout three exhibition spaces at AREA 919, as well as a continuous video projection and site specific installation elements.

July 23rd, 2009 6-9PM Opening Reception for Furnished Raw.  Contemporary furniture designed and constructed by four Philadelphians.  Furnishings by Luis Montoya, Anthony Angelicola, Mike Parsell and Daniel Petraitis.

June 11th, 2009 6-9PM Opening Reception for Abby Schmidt: Waxed. Philadelphia artist, Abby Schmidt, invites you to consider the lifestyle of children fostered by the intersection of the economy of food and the politics of war.  Waxed presents works in three mediums: melted wax on backlit acrylic panels, melted wax on framed plywood, painted assemblage on plywood.

May 14th, 2009 7PM Artist Talk with Amie Potsic. With an essay on the artist's work presented by Nick Schonberger.

April 17th, 2009 6-9PM Opening Reception for Amie Potsic: Skin Stories. Large scale silver gelatin prints portraying the sensuality and torment of flesh, wounds and scars in iconic sculpture and the human body.

January 8th, 2009 6-9PM Opening Reception for CURIO: Americana, Folk Art, Outsider Art, and Utilitarian Objects from 1880-1993. The exhibit will present works by Sanford Darling, Morgan Monceaux, Jimmy Lee Suddith, Mose Tolliver and B F Perkins along side folk art, utilitarian objects with sculptural merit and small objects of curiosity. Each piece in the exhibit is accompanied with text by Juliana Staveley-O'Carroll.

INDULGE YOURSELF, an event produced by YELP will be hosted by AREA 919 on Wednesday evening, December 17th, 7-9PM and sponsered by the likes of: Sugar Cube, Grasshopper, Matthew Izzo, Dhyana Yoga and Flying Monkey.  And if you haven't yet experienced it, JOHN ROSSER: PSYCODATA will be on view (through Jan 3rd.) Come see, taste, do, talk, buy.

JOHN ROSSER: PSYCODATA opens Thursday night, November 13th, 6-9PM and runs through January 3rd, 2009. Digitally manipulated photographs with an installation component.

The grand opening of AREA 919 will be the evening of Thursday, September 25th, with a reception from 6-9PM and an after party from 9-Midnight. Two opening exhibts feature TODT: AS IF through November 8th and ELEMENT, architectural objects from Europe, America, and Asia, through 12/31/08.
